Authors often say that characters write themselves. They do indeed. And I could say at times it does create a confusion over which world one lives in. At times one has such a feeling for what happens to a character that I feel it affects my own mood for some of the rest of the day. In the first of these stories, where a bored wife goes to seek 'fun', I felt so sorry for her plight that she put herself into that I needed to to put it right for her. She was, in my mind, really quite attractive if a little lacking in good sense. She had a talent for looking cheap which concerned me, and I was irritated with her husband who in his limited way loved her but did not understand her frustrations with life and with him. He had to come true in the end to help me to cope with the painful unfolding fate of poor Sal. Do you think she learned a lesson? Did he?
